Rancho Margot welcomes groups interested in hosting Holistic Wellness Retreats. The Ranch is graced with a lush landscape where you and your guests will be serenaded by the soothing sounds of our multiple streams, the Caño Negro River and the rich sounds of countless bird species. Featuring numerous indoor and outdoor venues, we are an ideal location for retreats focused on yoga, mindfulness practice, nutrition, herbal medicine, the healing arts, massage therapy and meditation.
Every day is a yoga retreat at Rancho Margot!
Yoga and Meditation
Nested above the Caño Negro River, our primary yoga studio bathes in the relaxing sounds of the rushing waters below. Strategically located and designed, this structure offers consistent cool breezes, the sights and sounds of the surrounding rainforest life, as well as protection from the rain. Across our lake, within view of the yoga studio sits our Lake Pavillion, a structure of modern design with architectural lines that mirror the mountains beyond. This beautifully covered space rests on the banks of our tranquil lake and looks out toward a wall of Primary forest and is an ideal space for the practice and study of yoga and mediation.
We grow all our food, including the food for our animals, without the use of chemicals. Our gardens produce an increasing variety of fruits and vegetables year-round. We till the soil by hand, make compost and use creative methods to add nutrients, including volcanic rock, to the soil,to enhance quality and productivity. Our free-range chickens produce fresh eggs each day, our cattle provide our dairy products as well as meat and, together with our pigs, all our animals are raised on a chemical-free diet in a cruelty-free environment. These labors of love, are core to the health of our eco-system and we proudly share our daily harvest and produce with our guests at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Holistic health is an important component of sustainable living. At Rancho Margot, we promote healthy lifestyles centered on nature, nutrition and preventative medicine. In 2010, one amazing volunteer and practitioner of acupuncture and herbal medicines, Adrienne Kam led the design and documentation of our Medicinal Gardens. (You can read about the tour at http://livingfarmacy.wordpress.com) Kam’s work helped set the foundation for future herbal medicine retreats and others.
